Day 1: Rehearsal Dinner, Sunset Boat Session & Italian Flare
The festivities kicked off with a vibrant day-one welcome event right at Ristorante Tiffany at Lago Maggiore.
Knowing how fast a wedding day flies by, we planned ahead: we took Michael and Michelle out on a private boat ride right in the middle of Lake Maggiore for an intimate couples' shoot. Out on the open water with the majestic Alps as a backdrop, the couple got to relax, catch their breath, and create breathtaking photos without feeling rushed on their main day.
Afterward, the guests gathered for a traditional Italian rehearsal dinner catered with authentic local cuisine. A live saxophone player jammed alongside the DJ, setting an upbeat, joyous tone for the rest of the weekend.
Day 2: The Wedding Day at Villa Porta Maggiore
Getting Ready
Michael and Michelle are originally from Scotland, but having traveled the world as digital nomads, their guest list was a wonderful tapestry of international friends from every corner of the globe.
The morning began with prep inside the historic, elegantly styled rooms of Villa Porta Maggiore. As photographers, having distinct, light-filled rooms for both the bride and groom at the same venue allowed the morning to feel relaxed and seamless
Rooftop Ceremony, Champagne Tower, Candid Moments & Couple Session
The symbolic ceremony took place high above the lake on the villa’s iconic rooftop terrace. Surrounded by panoramic water views, gentle breezes, and emotional vows, Michael and Michelle said “I do” in front of their international loved ones.
Following the ceremony, after the champagne tower we explored the villa’s stunning grounds for their couple portraits. Michael and Michelle were dream clients to work with—warm, incredibly charismatic, and genuinely excited about their photos. They embraced all of our creative ideas with natural joy, making the session an absolute highlight for us.
Dinner with a View & An Unforgettable Party
The evening reception moved indoors into the villa’s magnificent dining hall, featuring floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows overlooking Lake Maggiore. As the sun set, glowing golden hues flooded the room while guests enjoyed their meal with front-row seats to the Italian sunset.
Once the speeches wrapped up, the atmosphere shifted into high gear. Michelle personally handed out vodka shots straight to her guests on the dance floor, sparking an electric, wild party. The energy was contagious, and everyone danced long into the night.
